Eversea
(Butler Cove #1)

Published June 5th 2013
Genre: New Adult, Romance, Contemporary

Blurb:

An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her new director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided ... and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

My Review:

Butler Cove is a small town in South Carolina where Kari Ann Butler has lived with her grandmother since the death of her parents a few years ago. Kari Ann is sort of stuck in Butler Cove while her brother is away at college. They made a deal where they would each go to college but not at the same time. One of them would stay in Butler Cove to take care of their home that their grandmother left them and to help the other with the expense that going to college would entail.

Kari Ann didn’t actually mind staying in Butler Cover and helping out her brother. Kari Ann is a girl with a very big heart and would like to give that heart to someone one day and have someone love her in return. But she doesn’t see that helping in too distance future as there is not many fish in the sea to choose from at Butler Cove.

Jack Eversea is a big time movie star who has just broken up with his longtime girlfriend and has come to Butler Cove to get away for a while to get his head cleared. Jack just wants to be left alone without any human contact but he can’t figure out how he is going accomplish that even in a small town with how popular he happens to be.

When he and Kari Ann meet it is his lucky day that she just happens to be the first person he meets. He is lucky in that she is not exactly his biggest fan. No that would be Kari Ann’s bff Jazz. You see with Kari Ann not being a very big fan just means that she would probably be more out to keep his secret than his biggest fan would; who would like nothing more than to shout it to the roof tops of course. So Jack makes a deal with Kari Ann he will help her fix up her house if she will do his grocery shopping for him.

After seeing each other and spending more time together Kari Ann notices that something is going on between the two of them. Her heart is doing things that she has never experienced before. Every time she is with Jack it starts racing and she can feel the atmosphere between them change. She doesn’t want to fall in love with Jack. He is a big time movie star and will one day have to leave to go back and finish filming his movie and he will more than likely get back with his girlfriend too. Then Kari Ann will be not only be stuck in Butler Cove but she will be stuck in Butler Cover with a broken heart to mend. What is a girl to do? How can you stop a heart from falling in love?

Kari Ann has been through so much in her young life and I just hate to see her get hurt. But she is a girl with a very big heart who thinks of other people before she ever thinks of herself. She will make herself miserable if will make someone else happy. I love following along with Kari Ann and the ride she took us on. I loved the way she dealt with life and still remained happy. Who could blame her if once in awhile she got a little upset with people and maybe bit their heads off.

Eversea is an amazing story but the ending just blew me away I was not expecting it to end like that. I was looking for more and I was like what…no…wait…is that all? If you love a good book that leaves you wanting more at the end then Eversea is your book. The ending will blow you away but it is what happens before that makes is so good. I just know the next book Forever Jack is going to be just as amazing. I do suggest that you give Eversea a try. You won’t regret it.
